Monkey See, Monkey Do!

And sometimes, but not this time....Monkey get in trouble, too!.

Davis has been an Underdog for 6 seasons now and it was time for some new uniforms. Of course, me, feeling like I needed one more thing to take care of, took charge of the process. The new jerseys were of course ready about 5 minutes before we needed them and when Jason walked in with them and Henry saw the whole lot, he KNEW one must be for him. "I play soccer ball, I play soccer ball. My jersey, my jersey." Fortunately, we have a small collection of jerseys so Henry has now been given one. Did you hear the story of the boy who wore Brett Farve's jersey everyday for like 3 years or something ridiculous like that...we might have that problem on our hands.....Well, anyway, now Henry has his very own dress, I mean soccer jersey!!

Saturday was the beginning of a new season. Over the summer, the McKinney soccer people made some changes to help our boys develop the same way European soccer develops players. Let me just say, it is already not going over so well in TEXAS where we prefer to develop 'em our own way. But because all of these boys are trying from the ripe ole age of 7 to have a career in professional European soccer, changes were made. These boys have been so excited since last season because coach had been telling them...bigger field, more players, goalies....7 year old translation....REAL SOCCER. REAL SOCCER. Sorry, Underdogs, it will have to wait. Jason came home and said that because of the smaller field the most of the game consisted of a few feet of dribbling followed by kick it as hard as you can and watch to see if it goes in. But he, at least they have new uniforms!!!
