I am so proud of Davis!! Earlier this spring, we found out he received Honorable Mention at the district level for his PTA Reflections Contest essay. The theme was "Together We Can Make A Better World" and he wrote about everyone doing their part to recycle, save water and keep neighborhoods and parks clean. His teacher required them to enter and he missed the first day of writing in class, so he wrote it in a hurry!! But that is our little secret!! * * But today was fantastic!! In the fall, when it was time to come up with a science fair project idea, we tried to come up with an experiment about the immune system. In my A&P materials, I had a fun little video that likened the immune system to a castle and we wanted to base it on that. He went a different route with his science fair, but I told him it would be fun for him to build a Lego castle and do the immune project on his own. After science fair was over, he did just that. I sat him down to watch the video. He took lots of notes and then we watched it again together and tried to get the right 4th grade appropriate information out of it. He built his castle and took it to school and presented it to the 4th grade! They began their study of body systems and his teacher still has his castle at school. Last night, he and Jason came home from an event at the school and he told me he was going to present his project to the WHOLE SCHOOL during announcements. It came up at the last minute and his teacher put together this presentation based on his notes for him. https://prezi.com/secure/fae0f768b0536f1008133d7fcb69cc8404684647/ We all got up this morning and went to school and we found out he wasn't doing over the announcements, he was doing it live....

Bragging on Davis
in front of the whole school during the weekly morning assembly!!
He was calm, cool and collected and didn't think anything of it!! After he was finished, I got up to walk back to my seat and heard several teachers say, "wow!" (I warned you in the title...this is a bragging post!!!!)
Here is a short clip:
