We have been so blessed in Davis' atheletic endeavors to have a great coach, teammates and fellow parents. Normally we are a mild mannered bunch, we cheer for both teams, encourage the boys instead of getting angry when they don't live up OUR expectations. Davis has a great time playing soccer and now basketball. (His basketball coach and many teammates are also on our soccer team) But this morning the opposing team parents were a little more rowdy, yelling at the refs, yelling some at our kids, encouaging their boys to play mean. They are 6, by the way. It was very funny to see what that began to bring out in us. Suddenly we were a little more vocal, we stopped cheering so much for the other team and began to encourage our boys to take the ball from them just like they had obviously been coached to do. And I have to admit, it felt pretty good to watch our boys put up 26 points to their 10. As always, their end of the game chant is "we won because we had fun." Who needed that reminder????
